MEET THE BOARD
Florencia -or "Flor"- originally from Argentina, played field hockey since young both at school and a sports club -my second home-, where I also coached junior teams for many years.

After many back to back winters chasing the snow, I stayed in Whistler for my first summer in 2020 and decided it was time to return to the field.

I could not be more excited to be part of Whistler Field Hockey Club. Since we started it just a few years ago, it has been a fantastic place to make new friends and have regular meetups while also playing this super fun sport.
Come join us!
Drey (aka. Andrea) grew up in North Vancouver and started playing field hockey around age 8. Playing on club teams, on high school teams as well as playing for 4 years at a University in the US, field hockey has been a big part of my life for many years.
After moving to whistler in 2012, skiing, mountain biking and recreating in the outdoors have been my go to for sports. I couldn’t have been more excited to see a Field Hockey Club start in Whistler after our Multi Purpose turf field (Andre Janyk Field) was completed in May 2019. After about 20 years away from the sport, I was so excited to dust off the cob webs on my very old stick and get back on the pitch!
Our Club has been running for 4 years now and is building good traction with new members joining every season. As a club, we are excited to grow this sport in Whistler and build a fun and inclusive co-ed field hockey community!
It’s so wonderful to see this great team sport in Whistler! And I am so happy and excited to part of this new, super fun and quickly growing field hockey community : )
Whether you’re new to the sport, need to dust off the cob webs or currently playing with a team from out of town, we would love to see you on the pitch with us!
As the Treasurer of the Whistler Field Hockey Club, I bring a lifelong passion for the sport to our vibrant community. Growing up in Australia, I played for NSW and national teams, and had the unforgettable experience of being a ball boy at the Sydney Olympics. After stepping away from the game at 18, I rediscovered my passion for field hockey in 2023 thanks to the Whistler Field Hockey Club.
Joelle played field hockey all through high school with the nickname "Balls" (earned by accidentally spilling an entire bag of hockey balls on a public bus going to an away game with the team).
She then didn't play for 20 years until she learned that Greater Vancouver has a huge women's league. She played for several years with the Surrey Sharks working her way up to Division 2.
After moving to Whistler, she was missing the sport and ended up working with the Muni to start a group here in 2021. Joelle says "I'm involved in many sports but field hockey is my passion".
Meet Florencia, our Communications Director and resident content wizard! Hailing all the way from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Flo has been wielding a field hockey stick for over a decade, proudly representing her Buenos Aires Club.
Lucky for us, her passion followed her to Whistler, where she's been a driving force since the very beginning of our club. With over 5 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, and communications, Flo is on a mission to sprinkle field hockey magic across all our channels and inspire you to grab a stick and join the fun!
